Responsibilities & Tasks

• Conduct speech-language tests and examinations
• Diagnose and evaluate speech, voice, resonance, language, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders
• Instruct technicians and students
• Supervise technical and support staff
• Develop, plan, and implement remedial programs to correct speech, voice, language, resonance, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders
• Hire and train staff
• Provide advice and educational services to patients and families regarding communication and swallowing disorders
• Establish personalized care plans as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Provide information to patients and families about hearing loss and its treatment
