Job Description

New Rates of $85-$90/visit plus up to $7500 sign-on bonus

In this role of Speech Language Pathologist/Therapist, you will provide community visits to assess and determine treatment for referred adult or pediatric clients with speech and language disorders, pre-linguistic communication behavior, cognitive communication, and/or dysphagia.

What you’ll do :

• Assess, diagnose, and treat communication disorders such as speech, fluency, language, voice, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop, plan, and implement a treatment plan to address the patient's issues.
• Create personalized care plans for each patient, often collaborating with other medical staff on an interdisciplinary team.
• Educate and counsel patients and families on communication and swallowing disorders.
• Research speech and communication disorders and develop new diagnostic procedures and devices.
• Instruct and supervise communicative disorders assistants, students, and other healthcare professionals.

What you bring :

• Degree in Speech Language Pathology and current registration with the provincial licensing body where applicable.
• Minimum 1 year of speech language pathology experience; community health experience preferred.
• Technical knowledge of different speech and swallowing disorders and their treatments.
• Technical knowledge of specialized equipment for testing and treating speech and swallowing disorders.
• Ability to create patient-centered treatment plans that fit into the patient’s life and help improve symptoms.
• Ability to work with a diverse team of medical professionals.
• Excellent communication skills to explain speech and swallowing disorders to patients and families.
• Ability to provide a current, clear Vulnerable Position Screening (VPS).
• Access to reliable transportation, as visiting multiple locations daily is required.
