Speech Language Pathologist

Position

Temporary Speech Language Pathologist

Our Catholic School Division is seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech‑Language Pathologist to join our team. This full‑time position involves providing speech and language services to students from early learning to Grade 12, including specialized programming classrooms PUF/Pre‑Kindergarten and Flexible Pathways program. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of Speech Language Pathologists, Speech Language Assistant, Occupational Therapists, Teachers, Collaborative Response Coordinators, Psychologists, and Inclusive Learning Consultants to contribute to a dynamic, collaborative environment that supports the children in their classrooms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments to identify and address speech and language needs impacting student performance in early learning and school settings.
  • Collaborate and communicate with school teams, multi-disciplinary teams, community partners, and families to develop and implement effective support strategies.
  • Inform ongoing quality improvement, service integration, and program development
  • Build capacity with teachers, educational staff, and families by modeling and coaching broad-based strategies to support speech and language development in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with school teams to implement AAC strategies, determine appropriateness for trials of AAC, and coordinate trials.
  • Participate in the consultative development of goals to support Instructional Program Plans (ISP).
  • Monitor student progress and advise on strategies for achieving curricular outcomes.
  • Coordinate and monitor strategies for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
  • Support the identification of students who qualify for Program Unit Funding (PUF).
  • Develop and deliver professional development sessions to increase staff knowledge and capacity.
  • Administer, score, and interpret standardized assessments to identify and address speech and language needs impacting student performance in early learning and school settings.
  • Foster and maintain partnerships with local organizations and the community to enhance programming and resources.
Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Speech‑Language Pathology.
  • Registered and in good standing with the Alberta College of Speech‑Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with technology
  • Two or more years of experience in a school setting or working with children (an asset).

Salary: $87,322 - $105,844 per year plus board paid benefit coverage. In addition to this, mileage and ACSLPA Registration Renewal Fee will be covered.
