Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (Independent Contractor) to assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders across client ages in home settings. You will develop tailored therapy plans, maintain records, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.

The role emphasizes ongoing professional development, education for clients and families, and travel within the Greater Hamilton and Burlington communities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Audiologists or Speech-Language Pathologists.
  • Three years’ experience preferred in delivering Speech-Language Pathology services.
  • Experience with in-home assessments and treatments; knowledge of auto insurance and the medical/legal reporting context is an asset.
  • Ability to work with clients of all ages and strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based therapy plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, educators, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate client records in line with regulatory standards.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

What you will do:

The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for the completion of professional activities that include assessment, treatment, education, and management of clients requiring speech treatment, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders (children and adults).

  • Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Utilize your expertise to diagnose a wide range of speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Develop Tailored Treatment Plans: Create and implement personalized, evidence-based therapy plans that cater to each client’s unique needs.
  • Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with physicians, psychologists, educators, and other professionals to provide holistic and integrated care.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure meticulous and up-to-date client records, adhering to all regulatory standards.
  • Engage in Continuous Learning: Stay ahead in your field by participating in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

What you bring:
  • Master’s Degree or recognized equivalent in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Audiologists or Speech-Language Pathologists required.
  • Three (3) years’ experience providing Speech-Language Pathology services preferred
  • Experience completing in-home assessments and treatments; knowledge of auto insurance and legal system is an asset particularly medical/legal report writing
  • Enjoy working with clients of all ages in multiple treatment environments. Strong communication (oral and written) and exceptional interpersonal and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of personal computers, and proficiency with secure email.
  • Valid Class G or G2 driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Greater Hamilton and Burlington communities
  • Pediatric experience an asset
