An established industry player seeks a dedicated Phlebotomist to join their team. This role involves performing blood collection through venipuncture and capillary methods, ensuring accurate sample labeling, and providing essential customer service to both technical staff and laboratory clients. Performs blood collection by venipuncture and capillary methods, for a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to be used in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Collects chain of custody drug screens for various companies. Periodically oversees collections performed by phlebotomy or medical assisting students. Performs some registration functions to include patient data entry and order entry as well as specimen receiving, processing, and distribution functions. Provides customer service support to technical staff and laboratory clients.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or Phlebotomy Program required. Must be certified or eligible for certification. Minimum of 3 months of phlebotomy experience preferred. Requires a working knowledge of handling blood, body fluids and other lab specimens, according to infection control guidelines.
Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets the criteria to drive a FirstHealth vehicle.
