PRN Shift- Flexible Weekends - Connecticut Area!
Pay Range: $18.00-$23.00 Based on experience ($1.00 Shift Diff)

ROLE:

The Mobile Phlebotomist, under the supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, provides clinical pre-analytical laboratory services in a mobile setting. Responsibilities include completing routes safely and efficiently, following policies and procedures, and maintaining certifications.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive to client facilities, mainly nursing homes, as directed.
  • Unload phlebotomy tray and collect samples at patient's bedside.
  • Identify patients accurately before specimen collection.
  • Collect, label, process, and deliver specimens.
  • Reload equipment and specimens for delivery.
  • Communicate with dispatcher regarding status and location.
  • Follow Universal Precautions and safety protocols.
  • Maintain certifications, health, and operational standards.
  • Keep work area clean and report unsafe conditions.
  • Manage supplies inventory and report low or expired supplies.
  • Arrive promptly, groomed, and with proper ID.
  • Accurately record hours worked and manage shift breaks.
  • Follow specimen preservation and patient preparation procedures.
  • Make record changes only as per approved instructions.
  • Occasional on-call work, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication skills tailored to pediatric and geriatric populations.
  • Respectful and discreet treatment of patients and customers.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Valid State phlebotomy license (if required).
  • Valid driver's license, vehicle in good condition, and insurance.
  • Proficient in venipuncture and skin puncture techniques.
  • Knowledge of laboratory operations.
  • Maintain sterile and sanitary conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Frequent walking, standing, handling, talking, and hearing. Occasional sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. May lift up to 35 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Potential health hazards in a medical laboratory environment. Work in all weather and driving conditions, adhering to safety policies and using PPE.
