We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication to delivering compassionate patient care to join our team in the Critical Care department at Fort St. John Hospital.
Under the direction of the Manager, Med/Surg; ICU; In-patients, you will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients presenting in the ICU Unit.
Developed by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), ECCO is an accredited program used within BC health authorities for over two decades. The program starts with the 14-hour AACN Essentials of ECG and Dysrhythmia Monitoring, followed by a 7-week theory portion that includes evidence-based online modules, in-class review, skills labs, simulation, and clinical practicum to introduce learners to critical care nursing. Week 8 covers Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR), providing essential skills for safe patient care in critical settings. Week 9 focuses on pediatric care, including Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), with additional labs, simulation, and theory days tailored to the unique needs of the geographic area and patient transfer capabilities within NH.
