The Specialist, IT Operations Technical will support the evolution of infrastructure hardware and software, ensuring supportability, scalability, robustness, and performance within Ontario Health’s infrastructure. The role involves software and hardware lifecycle management, providing 24/7 operational support in a highly available, critical, and secure environment. The incumbent will interact with stakeholders and technical teams to maintain mission-critical infrastructure.

Here is what you will be doing:

  • Ensuring delivery of project and service level objectives
  • Providing solutions to technical and business problems
  • Maintaining service quality for assigned work
  • Understanding business needs and their impact on products/portfolios
  • Offering feedback on process improvements
  • Participating in change activities
  • Working with autonomy under guidance, supporting scenarios, and resolving issues proactively
  • Making decisions with limited/moderate impact where errors could affect patient care

Here is what you will need to be successful:

Education and Experience:

  • College diploma or recognized equivalent
  • 3–5 years of experience in product/service/technology/healthcare domains, with Tier 1 or higher experience
  • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks, administration tools like O365, and workflow tools such as BMC Remedy
  • Experience with server administration, scheduled maintenance, deployment activities, and ITIL certification preferred
  • Technical expertise in Windows environments, DSN technology, O365, PowerShell scripting, and Azure
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and support skills
  • Knowledge of enterprise printing solutions, system administration, and security standards

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to monitor and troubleshoot applications, hardware, and networks
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Customer service orientation and ability to handle interpersonal relationships empathetically
