Red Chris is an open-pit copper-gold mine in the famous Golden Triangle of northern British Columbia, situated on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. As a fly-in, fly-out operation, Red Chris is reached via charter flights from multiple locations in BC and Alberta, with teams working on a rotational schedule. Currently an active open-pit producer, Red Chris is poised for an exciting transformation – we are developing a high-value underground block cave that will extend the mine’s life for decades and unlock even more resources. The remote location fosters a close-knit “camp” community where safety and teamwork come first. Working at Red Chris offers an adventurous career at the frontier of mining innovation, with the opportunity to shape a major expansion while enjoying the natural beauty of northern Canada. Our team values strong partnerships with local First Nations and is committed to operating in a safe, inclusive and environmentally responsible way.
As Specialist, Tailings, you will help ensure the safe, responsible, and sustainable management of Red Chris Mine’s tailings and water storage facilities. Your expertise will support operational excellence, risk management, regulatory compliance, and long-term tailings planning aligned with Newmont and global industry standards.
