Overview Of The Role

Responsible for all activities and education related to health and safety legislation. Providing guidance to our employees to adopt the best behaviors and procedures, reflecting our priority on health and safety. This role acts as an ambassador of our culture and values and will oversee the facilities in Ontario: St. Marys and Orangeville.

Full Time

Salary:

$78,170 to $117,260 annually

Note:

Salary offers will vary based on experience, education, skills, and training.

How you will make contributions that matter:
  1. Collaborate with the safety team to execute company safety policies through training and education, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  2. Work with the Corporate Health & Safety team and regional specialists to promote a culture of engagement and continuous learning.
  3. Conduct risk assessments and safety data analysis to influence safety improvements.
  4. Perform hazard assessments and frontline risk reviews.
  5. Assist in the administration of safety software (SAI360).
  6. Guide site incident investigations and develop detailed reports with corrective actions.
  7. Audit facilities for compliance with legislation and corporate standards, addressing areas for improvement.
  8. Build relationships with local agencies and develop industry knowledge.
Qualifications:
  1. Degree/diploma in Health and Safety or equivalent; CRSP registration preferred.
  2. 2-3 years of health and safety experience in a medium to large organization.
  3. Understanding of Human and Organizational Performance, CSA standards, and Ontario regulations.
  4. Ability to travel to Ontario sites and work various shifts.
  5. Strong leadership, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  6. Team-oriented with excellent engagement skills.
  7. Proficiency in MS Office; ability to learn new systems.
  8. Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
