Position and Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of internal communication campaigns and organize delivery of communication methods such as townhall meetings, newsletters, digital screens, employee events, photography, the intranet, etc. Prepare content aligned with Cameco’s objectives.
  • Contribute to Cameco’s community investment programs in Northumberland. Lead logistics for community initiatives like golf tournaments, open houses, and community barbeques. Identify grant and sponsorship opportunities, coordinate volunteer activities, and oversee grant administration.
  • Assist in creating and designing materials, including news releases, advertisements, newsletters, fact sheets, web and digital content. Manage social media channels by creating and posting relevant content. Monitor media for emerging issues and trending topics. Support external events, tours, and conferences.
  • Provide administrative support to the Ontario team, including budget tracking, reporting, and record keeping.

Education and Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Social Sciences, English, Marketing, Political Science, or related field.
  • Up to three (3) years of experience in internal or external communications within an organizational setting.
  • Strong organizational, writing, and project management skills.
  • Experience managing client relationships with stakeholders.
  • Pre-employment substance test required.

Assets:

  • Technical proficiency in MS Office, knowledge of design programs, and familiarity with social media platforms.
