Job summary

Messer is seeking a Commercial Specialist to support commercial operations by maintaining data integrity, managing pricing updates, and delivering analytics that drive business decisions. The role requires strong data management skills, English-French bilingualism, and experience with SAP/E.R.P.

systems in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with Sales, Analytics, Purchasing, and Customer Service to ensure accurate pricing, master data, and contract documentation,

Qualifications

  • College diploma or university degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial operations, pricing administration, data management, sales support, or a related business function.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access, with experience working in SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret commercial agreements, pricing structures, and business requirements.
  • Experience working with large datasets and translating information into meaningful business insights and recommendations.
  • Innovative mindset with a passion for identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational excellence.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Self-motivated, customer-focused, and able to perform effectively under pressure while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of master data across internal systems, including customer records, pricing structures, escalations, cylinder management, contracts, and customer documentation.
  • Process new account setups, account modifications, and pricing updates while ensuring compliance with established policies, controls, and governance standards.
  • Extract, analyze, manipulate, and validate large datasets to identify discrepancies, improve data quality, and support business objectives.
  • Administer and maintain organizational tables and commercial data structures within enterprise systems.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Analytics, Purchasing, Customer Service, and other cross-functional teams to resolve pricing and account-related issues and ensure data accuracy.
  • Develop, analyze, and deliver reports, dashboards, and insights that support commercial decision-making and customer requirements.
  • Investigate data and pricing discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for commercial processes, providing guidance, training, and support to internal stakeholders.Review customer agreements and contractual documentation, interpret key commercial terms, and ensure accurate setup and maintenance within contract management systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, enhance data governance, and increase operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and SHEQ requirements.
  • Support strategic projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

What You'll Do:
