Job summary

Messer is seeking a Driver/Inside Sales hybrid in Canada. You will operate a well-maintained vehicle, performing deliveries and providing excellent customer service. This role requires a Class 3 or DZ license and a readiness to handle both delivery and sales-related tasks.

Responsibilities include daily deliveries, administrative support, and upselling to increase counter sales. A 60 lb lifting capability and safety compliance are required. Competitive pay and benefits accompany this hybrid role.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 3 or DZ license with air brakes.
• Minimum of 1 year driving experience with recognized driving school training or 3 years driving experience.
• Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent experience.
• A clean driving abstract available upon request.
• Ability to handle and lift goods up to 60 lbs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Comfortable with computers and Microsoft Office.
• Industrial sales skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver gas products and hardgoods to local customers within the assigned area.
• Balance cylinder load sheets and daily cylinder records.
• Use handheld devices for deliveries, invoicing, and inventory reconciliation.
• Ensure compliance with government regulations and safety rules.
• Maintain vehicles per policy and report safety hazards.

Whatyou’lldo:

As one of our Drivers,you’llbe drivinga well-maintainedvehicle while also professionallyrepresentingour organization to our customers.This position is for people motivatedtodriveheavy vehicles (Class 3/DZ License)and provide excellent customer service.Your responsibilities will include:

• Multipledeliveries(requiring loading and unloading of cylinders)/ day (5 or 10 tontruck) of gas products and hardgoods to local customers within the assigned geographical area
• Balancing cylinder load sheets and daily cylinder records
• Some administration dutiesincludethe use of handheld technology to process deliveries and reconcile agent consignment inventory balances
• Comply withall government regulations
• Maintaining vehicles as per company vehicle policy,observingsafety requirements, andwearingsafety equipment and report safety hazards to supervisor

This role isahybridrole,and you will also be anInside Sales Representative, you will play a key role in providing excellent customerservicedailyand doingthe following tasks:

• Welcome andadvise customerstocometo the store and perform related tasks such as order preparation and follow-up
• Provide administrative and technical support to internal clients.
• Provide creative customer service techniques, show an ability to source products and maintain satisfactory inventory levels
• Capable of communicating on multiple levels with external customers with theobjectiveof increasing counter sales through upselling
• Support Branch Manager in obtaining all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), safetygoalsand an excellent net operating profit
• Precallcustomer orders
• Responsible for entering invoices into SAP, preparing credit notes, sorting documents, filing, and processing telephone orders
• Activelysolicitsnew salesin store and via outgoing calls
• Maximize counter sales and handle telephone enquiries from customers or prospective customers
• Receive incoming hardgoods shipments from vendors and intercompany warehouses

What it takes:

• Valid Class 3 or DZ license with air brakes
• Minimum of 1 year driving experience with recognized driving school training or3years driving experience

• Experience usinghandheldelectronic devices
• WHMIS/TDG certification
