Job summary

Titanium Transportation Group Inc. Bolton Terminal is seeking a Carrier Procurement Specialist to optimize service engagements between Carrier Partners and Titanium Sales Staff.

You will evaluate carrier options, arrange movements for customers, and ensure service quality aligns with KPI targets. Ideal candidates will have logistics experience, strong English communication, and the ability to build carrier relationships while maintaining data in the TMS.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics or transportation procurement is preferred.
• Ability to evaluate carrier options and negotiate rates.
• Familiarity with Transportation Management Software (TMS) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Source carriers to match loads in a fast-paced setting.
• Qualify new carriers with Titanium standards in collaboration with Compliance.
• Build relationships with carriers and integrate them into the system.
• Secure competitive carrier rates to maximize profit margins.
• Monitor market conditions and carrier pricing trends.
• Research potential carriers and develop business relationships.
• Maintain the carrier database in the TMS.
• Achieve spot rates by coordinating multiple carriers.
• Assist Customer Experience Representatives and sales when escalated.
• Confirm accessorial charges and communicate with carriers.
• Coordinate pickup to delivery to meet deadlines and adjust as needed.
• Identify risks and resolve problems proactively.
• Choose appropriate certifications and permits when booking.
• Follow KPI guidelines and performance standards.

Description

About the Role:

The Carrier Procurement Specialist is committed to achieving optimal levels of service engagement between our Carrier Partners and Titanium Sales Staff. This role is responsible for evaluating carrier options and arranging the movement of freight for our customers, ensuring service quality metrics are achieved to support both customer and Titanium expectations. Total customer satisfaction is our ultimate goal and this team works to link communication, solution and action between all parties.

Key Accountabilities:

• Source carriers to match available loads in a fast-paced setting
• Work alongside Compliance department to qualify new carriers to Titanium’s standards
• Build rapport and develop relationships with carriers and integrate them into our system
• Secure carriers with competitive rates, and to ensure fair market prices to help build and sustain partnerships while achieving highest profitable margin
• Maintain solid understanding of market conditions and carrier pricing trends to maximize profit margins
• Research carriers, identify potential business partners, and generate interest to help develop business relationships, including carrier in person vetting
• Maintain and expand our database of carriers within the Transportation Management Software (TMS)
• Achieve spot rates by interacting with multiple carriers all at the same time
• Assist Customer Experience Representatives (CXR) and sales with problems when escalated
• Confirming accessorial extra charges to be sent to the carrier
• Communicate with carriers from pick up to delivery to meet deadline and arrange changes if necessary
• Take initiative and identify potential risk and/ or problems; work to resolve problems
• Choosing the correct type of certifications when booking the truck and all permits if needed
• Adhere to performance standard guidelines as defined by the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) schedule

Position Requirements:

• Proficient with the use of a computer with the ability to regularly adapt to new and changing software, as assigned
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
• Successfully complete all assigned training and participate in recertification, as required
• Knowledge of Flatbed operations is an asset
• Previous experience in supply chain\logistics environment would be considered an asset
• Post secondary education in a related field an asset
