Job summary

Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board is seeking an Educational Assistant for a temporary full-time 35-hour week, 10-month position starting immediately with a March 1, 2027 end date. The role supports students with special needs under the guidance of a classroom teacher.

Responsibilities include assisting with instructional activities, aiding transitions from home to school, creating teaching materials, observing student progress, and helping with classroom routines and field

Qualifications

• Post-secondary educational assistant program (normally one year) or equivalent.
• Minimum one year experience working with children.
• Basic knowledge in the use of computer software.

Responsibilities

• Aid children in transitions from home to school and participate in individual and group activities.
• Act as liaison between students and the teacher.
• Assist in delivering lessons or projects for special needs students by creating materials under teacher direction.
• Assist in implementing Individualized Education Plans for special needs students.
• Observe and report on students' behaviour, progress, and development, including written reports.
