Job summary

Bluewater District School Board is seeking a temporary Educational Assistant to support students with intensive special education needs in elementary and secondary schools. The position is part-time (0.20 FTE) with Friday scheduling, commencing September 11, 2026, and ending December 18, 2026, or earlier if circumstances change.

The Educational Assistant will work under the school Principal to provide medical, physical and safety supervision support, with accommodations for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

Secondary school diploma required.
Post-secondary program in one of the listed fields (Education Support Worker, Educational Assistant Certificate, Early Childhood Educator, Social Service Worker, Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Worker, Educational Assistant Apprenticeship Program) or equivalent experience.
Experience supporting students with intensive special education needs is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide medical, physical and safety supervision support to students with intensive needs.
Support students in elementary and secondary classrooms.
Collaborate with school staff to ensure student safety.
