Job summary

UGDSB seeks a dynamic Educational Assistant for a temporary role across multiple sites. The position offers 0.5 FTE (16.25 hrs/week) or 1.0 FTE (32.50 hrs/week) with hourly pay between CAD 30.92 and CAD 36.74, starting September 2, 2026 and ending no later than June 30, 2027.

The role reports to the school Principal and requires ability to work with students with diverse needs and in coordination with ESSP and DECE unions.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant Diploma or equivalent education/experience.
• Post-secondary degree related to child development or special education.
• Certification in Behaviour Management Systems required.
• Experience with students with special needs is strongly preferred.
• Ability to perform essential physical duties (lifting/positioning).

Responsibilities

• Support students with diverse needs in classroom and group settings.
• Assist with behavior, safety, medical and physical needs using BMS.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and administration.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
