Job summary

The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board is seeking an Educational Assistant to work with students with Special Needs, including physical and intellectual disabilities and behavioral or learning difficulties. The role provides academic, physical and emotional support to promote independence and development.

The position is 33.83 hours per week with scheduling to be determined by the Principal; external candidates may be considered after the closing date if internal candidates are not

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with Special Needs.
• Experience with students exhibiting severe behavioural or emotional difficulties.
• Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic, physical and emotional support to students with exceptional needs.
• Support student independence and development of individual talents.
• Collaborate with school staff to implement individualized education plans.
