Job summary

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking an Educational Assistant to join our team for a 100% term, 35 hours per week, supporting students with special needs. Under the direction of the Principal, you will work with ASD and developmental disability programs, and collaborate with teachers and staff.

Requirements include a college diploma in Developmental Services Work or related field, 1–2 years experience, First Aid/CPR is an asset, and familiarity with assistive technologies such as

Qualifications

• Diploma in Developmental Services Worker or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of related school-age special needs experience.
• First Aid certification/CPR Level C is an asset.
• Knowledge of Ontario Curriculum and assistive tech is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support students with ASD and developmental disabilities in classroom and pool settings.
• Assist with modified programs and learning supports.
• Participation in pool programs and yard duties; assist with toileting when needed.
• Use Dragon and Kurzweil educational software.
