Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking a Substitute - Educational Assistant IV to support special education students at Coyote Creek Elementary. The role involves assisting with instruction, health needs, clerical tasks, and life skills support as part of the IEP team.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and First Aid/CPR certification. The workload includes 40 hours per week with a full-time equivalent of 1.0 and may include medical procedures and supervision tasks.

Qualifications

• High School or Equivalent is required.
• First Aid & CPR Certification (American Heart Association) is required.
• Experience assisting special education students is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with IEP goals and daily classroom or lab activities, including one-on-one and small group instruction.
• Maintain student records as needed.
• Collaborate with the special education team and other specialists on activities, planning, and resource allocation.
• Communicate with parents and school staff as needed.
• Provide clerical support for special education teachers, including preparation of reports.
• May assist in therapeutic activities such as speech, massage, and physical therapy.
• May administer medication to students and perform a variety of medical procedures.
• Supervise students in non-classroom settings and escort students to buses.
• Create and assemble instructional materials as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
