Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a Special Education Para-Educator II for elementary settings. This non-contract role supports SPED and ESP responsibilities under a classroom teacher, assisting with supervision, instruction and implementing IEP plans in regular or self-contained classrooms.

Responsibilities

• Adapts activities under supervising teacher to support objectives and IEP goals.
• Provides first aid and basic medical assistance as instructed.
• Assists with self-care activities and daily living tasks.
• Participates in trainings to improve job performance (first aid, behavior management).
• Collects data to support teachers and helps prepare reports and forms.
• Communicates with instructional staff to assist in evaluating progress and implementing IEP objectives.
• Implements behavioral plans designed by IEP team under supervision.
• Maintains instructional materials and records for access and mandated requirements.
• Monitors students to maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
• Delivers instruction in individual and group activities to reinforce objectives.
• Attends meetings and trainings to update job knowledge.
• Performs other related duties to ensure effective operation of the unit.
