Job summary

Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) seeks a qualified Educational Assistant for a 1.0 FTE temporary full-time position at Centennial Hylands Elementary School in Ontario. The role supports students with diverse needs, including behavioral, medical, and physical requirements, under the ESA guidelines.

Start as soon as possible with an end date not to exceed June 30, 2027. Remuneration ranges from $30.92 to $36.74 per hour, with vacation pay, in a 10-month school year schedule.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant Diploma or equivalent combination of formal education and work experience deemed by the Board
• Post-Secondary Degree in a related field of study
• A valid Behaviour Management Systems certification is required
• Experience with students with special needs and behavioural disabilities preferred
• Autism Spectrum Disorder Training
• Lifting/Positioning Training

Responsibilities

• Support students with diverse needs including behavior, safety, medical and physical needs
• Duties may include lifting, toileting, positioning and transferring children and equipment
• Work with students both individually and in groups
• Collaborate with classroom teacher, parents and administration
• Other duties as assigned
