Job summary

Messer Americas in Canada is seeking a Plant Manager for the Spec Gas production facility to lead safe, efficient and cost-effective operations. You will build a high-performance team, ensure regulatory compliance, and align with Messer’s safety, quality and continuous improvement goals.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years in management within the compressed gas or petrochemical industries, with ≥3 years leading in a unionized environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry or applicable Science degree, Engineering degree
• 10 years’ management experience in the compressed gas (spec gas) industry or petrochemical
• Prefer minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience in unionized environment

Responsibilities

• Oversee production-related activities to plan, direct, and coordinate production, filling, and distribution
• Ensure safe handling and storage of cylinders and maintain equipment in good working order
• Coordinate with sales and management to support growth strategy and on-time shipments
• Provide training on safety and quality procedures; lead investigations and reporting as needed
• Budgeting and cost control for plant operations and maintenance
