Job summary

Rocket Lab in Toronto, Canada is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to support the development, test, and maintenance of reaction wheel and star tracker components. Ideal candidates are enrolled in a bachelor’s program in mechanical or aerospace engineering with at least one semester remaining, have CAD experience (SolidEdge/SolidWorks), hands-on component work, and a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

This internship runs 16 consecutive weeks starting May 3, 2027.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s program in mechanical or aerospace engineering with at least one semester remaining post internship.
• GPA 3.0 or above required.
• Experience designing parts and assemblies, and preparing engineering drawings using CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Work with mentor and department to apply knowledge and grow technical and professional skills.
• Collaborate with a fast-paced group to apply engineering concepts to real challenges.
• Attend frequent 1:1s with mentors to facilitate success and learning.
• Participate in tech talks and networking events with interns and employees.
