Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role for a Sous Chef located on the South shore, NS. The Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation. Responsibilities also include supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food quality and safety standards are met, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. Additionally, the Sous Chef will help with menu planning and collaborate with the Head Chef to create new dishes. Lots of opportunity for Creativity and liaison with front-of-house!

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety
  • Experience in menu planning and recipe development
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
  • Knowledge of inventory management and cost control
