What Our Sous Chefs Do

Our Sous Chefs are skilled chefs who combine their culinary ability with management skills. They oversee our Food & Beverage program, ensure high standards, and manage their kitchens efficiently.

A Day in the Life of a Sous Chef

  • Adhere to the company’s F&B menu and purchasing programs
  • Maintain budgeted revenue, costs, and operating cash flow related to food operations; review profit & loss statements and adjust as needed
  • Coordinate with the Operations team and Sales staff during banquet functions, supervising food preparation, service, and clean-up
  • Estimate food consumption, make purchases, and schedule staff to meet business needs
  • Collaborate with the KM/Chef or General Manager to address disciplinary issues and foster teamwork
  • Ensure product quality, freshness, presentation, and oversee food preparation and storage
  • Assist with kitchen equipment maintenance and ensure compliance with DOH regulations through sanitation audits
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment at all times
  • Report critical issues to the General Manager promptly

What It Takes

  • 1-3 years of kitchen supervisory experience in high-volume settings such as retail, entertainment, hospitality, or restaurants
  • Experience with catering and special event food presentation is desirable
  • Relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current ServSafe certification required

Work Environment and Physical Demands
