Job summary

Waste Connections of Canada is seeking a dedicated Sorter to join our on-site team at 2240 Keating Cross Rd, Saanichton, BC. You will support a state-of-the-art recycling plant with pre-sorting, quality checks, and equipment upkeep, contributing to community waste reduction.

The role offers a Monday–Friday 7am–3:30pm schedule, competitive hourly pay at $22.69/hour, and opportunities for hands-on learning and growth within a safety-conscious, team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must be physically fit.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Safety conscious.
• Motivated and productive.
• Mechanical aptitude/maintenance experience an asset.
• A criminal record check and substance test within two weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Pre-sort, quality control sorting, and sort station maintenance in a state-of-the-art automated materials recovery/recycling plant.
• Sorting and baling of various recyclable materials.
• General housekeeping duties related to the warehouse and yard.
• Daily maintenance of baling, sorting and belt-line equipment.

Responsibilities

Our priority is to make sure we hire a safe Sorter that cares about the service provided to the community. As a Sorter with us the minimum responsibilities are:

• Pre-sort, quality control sorting, and sort station maintenance in a state-of-the-art automated materials recovery/recycling plant.
• Sorting and baling of various recyclable materials.
• General housekeeping duties related to the warehouse and yard.
• Daily maintenance of baling, sorting and belt-line equipment.
