Job summary

North York General Hospital in Toronto is seeking a Sonographer to perform ultrasound examinations, maintain equipment, and support patient-centered care within Medical Imaging. The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and safety in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has a recognized sonography program, current CMRITO registration, and (preferred) Sonography Canada registration, plus a minimum of one year as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. Bilingual French/English is an asset.

Qualifications

• Recognition of a recognized sonography program from an accredited institution is required.
• Current registration with the CMRITO is required.
• Current registration with Sonography Canada is preferred.
• Minimum one year as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer preferred.
• Bilingualism in French/English is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform all ultrasound imaging examinations
• Ensure imaging equipment is in proper working order and necessary supplies are on hand
• Record and compute supply inventory for assigned area
• Correlate history, physical findings, lab reports, etc., with examinations required
• Work under pressure in a quick and efficient manner
• Demonstrate excellent clinical and technical skills
• Work effectively with the imaging team
• Operate all the equipment in the ultrasound area
• Assist in training ultrasound students

You also have great interpersonal and communication skills, and you effortlessly connect with physicians, staff, patients, and families. This position supports the Hospital's academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation.
