Job summary

Russell Tobin is hiring a Sonographer (Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) for on-site work across British Columbia. This contract role spans 4 to over 13 weeks in a hospital or clinical imaging department. Overview

Location: Across British Columbia

Contract Duration: 4 weeks-13 weeks or more, 2026 (with potential extension)

Employment Type: Contract

Work Environment: On-site (Hospital / Clinical Imaging Department)

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols and standards
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images to assist physicians in patient diagnosis and treatment
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment
  • Accurately document procedures and results in Cerner and other clinical systems
  • Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare teams
  • Ensure patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality at all times
  • Follow infection control, patient safety, and imaging department policies
  • Maintain compliance with professional, ethical, and regulatory standards
  • Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
  • Certification with Sonography Canada or ARDMS (required)
  • Eligible to work as a Sonographer in British Columbia
  • Recent hospital or acute care experience preferred
  • Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Travel reimbursement and accommodation allowance available
