We are at the forefront of PV innovation, leading the industry in cutting edge design with a focus on continuous innovation. Our vision is to deliver the highest value to our clients at the lowest cost per kWh.

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Commissioning Technician with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience. The Commissioning Technician for Solar Single Axis Trackers is responsible for the testing, troubleshooting, and final commissioning of solar tracking systems to ensure they are fully functional and aligned with project specifications. This role involves working closely with engineering teams, contractors, and site managers to verify system performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide training on proper operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review electrical and mechanical drawings, project plans, and manufacturer specifications for solar single-axis trackers.
  • Ensure all system components, including motors, actuators, controllers, and sensors, are installed correctly.
  • Verify tracker alignment, structural integrity, and drivable parts functionality before system startup.

System Testing & Troubleshooting:

  • Conduct functional and performance tests on solar tracker systems.
  • Validate communication between tracker controllers, weather stations, and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and software-related tracker performance issues.
  • Perform sensor calibration, motor testing, and inclinometer verification.

Commissioning & Final Setup:

  • Configure and fine-tune tracker settings for optimal solar alignment and energy production.
  • Perform real-time monitoring to assess system performance under different weather conditions.
  • Validate data logging and communication between trackers, inverters, and central control systems.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of commissioning tests, issues identified, and corrective actions taken.
  • Generate commissioning reports for project managers, engineers, and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and project requirements.

Training & Support:

  • Provide on-site training for O&M (Operations & Maintenance) personnel on system functionality, troubleshooting, and maintenance best practices.
  • Assist in post-commissioning performance monitoring and troubleshooting as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field.
  • Certifications in solar PV systems (e.g., NABCEP) are a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in commissioning, electrical field service, or renewable energy installations.
  • Prior experience with solar trackers, PV inverters, or SCADA systems is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of single-axis tracker systems, motors, gear drives, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical wiring, grounding, and low-voltage DC/AC systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and mechanical layouts.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with multimeters, infrared cameras, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in field conditions.
  • Attention to detail and safety-conscious mindset.
