The Role

Aspen Technology is looking to hire a Software Quality Engineer to join our growing team. This individual will be responsible for functional and non-functional testing, including performance and test automation.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in our cutting-edge transformation and become a thought leader in the Quality space. A good understanding of software development practices is required to help create and execute testing for our market-leading products.

Your Impact

This individual will establish and promote test strategies from concept through design, implementation, testing, documentation, support, and maintenance, ensuring that the product line conforms to requirements and standards. They will also gather functional requirements and data to proactively incorporate best practices from a quality perspective into the product.

What You'll Need

• BS/MS in Chemical Engineering or related engineering field with exposure to software development, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
• 3-7 years of experience in validating complex software testing projects.
• Ability to innovate and pursue new testing strategies, understand existing processes and methodologies, and evangelize AspenTech-approved processes and technologies (Agile, Scrum).
• Experience managing small teams in a distributed environment and working with North American teams is a plus.
• Ability to report on multiple projects to peers and cross-functional teams.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, C#, C++, and Fortran is a plus.
• Knowledge of data science and AI techniques is a plus.
• Proven ability to work within a team environment and build relationships outside the department.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum & SAFe development methodologies is required.
• Experience with test automation, databases, and test tools is desirable.
• Ability to demonstrate situational leadership, understand Aspen Values and Competencies, and mentor the team.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills are required.
