Job summary

Know History in Calgary, Canada is seeking a Software Test/QA Specialist to develop test plans, perform functional, integration, regression, system, and UAT testing, and ensure quality across features. You will review requirements, create clear bug reports, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues.

The role is full-time with flexible hours, offering a starting compensation around CAD 50K per year plus vacation, sick leave, and health/dental benefits.

Qualifications

• Formal education in CS/IT or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in software testing, QA, application support or related technical role.
• Experience developing test cases and documenting defects.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and isolate problem sources.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and testing scenarios based on requirements.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing.
• Test new features and bug fixes prior to deployment and verify acceptance criteria.
• Create clear bug reports with steps, expected/actual results, severity, and evidence.
• Collaborate with developers to clarify defects and assist with troubleshooting.
• Conduct regression testing and prioritize testing activities by risk and project needs.
• Support release-readiness assessments and identify defects and risks.
