Greater Toronto Airports Authority is seeking an Associate Director of Software Engineering to establish and lead a sustainable software engineering capability. You will translate enterprise priorities into build, buy, and integration decisions, and oversee the lifecycle of software across multiple portfolios.

You will develop leaders, drive engineering standards, and ensure secure, accessible, and reliable digital products across the organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience including production systems.
• 5+ years of people leadership overseeing engineering teams and talent development.
• Track record of establishing engineering standards and delivery practices.
• Experience leading a hybrid delivery model with internal and external partners.
• Strong knowledge of APIs, cloud platforms, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and automated testing.

Responsabilités

• Execute the software engineering strategy and roadmap across enterprise products.
• Set standards for design, secure and maintainable development, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Evaluate build-vs-buy options based on value, cost and risk.
• Lead and coach the Software Engineering Manager and teams with clear objectives.
• Oversee budgets, supplier performance, and capacity planning.
• Embed security, privacy, data governance, and responsible AI practices.
• Communicate options and risks to business and technology leaders while promoting reuse.
