Job summary

The Toronto-Dominion Bank (Canada) is seeking an experienced software engineer to work primarily on onsite projects in Toronto. You will develop new solutions, implement features, and perform unit testing for engineering programs aligned with business needs and architectural standards.

You will collaborate with technology partners, review code, and help ensure performance goals and timely delivery. Strong Java, UI, and database skills plus Agile/DevOps experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in CS or software engineering or related technical certificate.
• 5+ years in UI, Java, RESTful APIs, Spring, Spring Boot and Angular.
• Experience with SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB, Cosmos DB).
• Proficient with Git-based source control (GitHub/Bitbucket).
• Familiarity with Agile development (Scrum/Kanban) and CI/CD workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop new solutions for engineering programs and projects within the assigned area.
• Develop new features and perform unit tests for new application initiatives.
• Support business inquiries with small enhancements and break/fix changes.
• Peer code review as needed to maintain quality.
• Collaborate with technology partners to meet requirements and performance goals.
• Analyze requirements and estimate work, possibly contributing to coding/story estimates.
• Ensure engineering solutions align with technical direction, performance and time-to-market.
• Document and verify system components, architecture and deployment considerations.
• Participate in quality reviews to ensure design and prototyping meet requirements.
