Job summary

Okta is seeking a Software Engineer II for its End User Protection team. You will design and deliver security-focused features in a fast-paced, multi-cloud environment, collaborating closely with Product, Security, and Infrastructure.

You will work with Node.js/TypeScript, AWS/Azure, and distributed databases, contributing to OpenID Connect, OAuth, and SAML integrations while maintaining high reliability and strong security practices. A strong communicator in a remote setting is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript) in a production environment.
• Knowledge of building scalable, reliable distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of application security and cloud security best practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in remote environments.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a fast-paced, agile team.
• Design and build features using Node.js, AWS/Azure, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB and Kubernetes.
• Break down complex requirements into modular engineering tasks and drive velocity.
• Assist in engineering estimation and communicate trade-offs, timelines, and dependencies to leadership.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Security and Infrastructure to align roadmaps.
• Work with Open Standards like OpenID Connect, OAuth and SAML and maintain services at scale.
• Participate in scheduled on-call rotations.
• Foster technical excellence and collaborative ownership across teams.
