Okta, the World's Identity Company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Auth0 Security Engineering team. You will build and operate platform security services using Python, Node.js, or Golang, and secure Kubernetes workloads with strong engineering discipline.

You will collaborate with Auth0 engineers to remediate vulnerabilities, contribute to security tooling, and promote secure coding practices while upholding high standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing and maintaining production-grade software services.
• Mastery of Python, Node.js, or Golang.
• Experience with GitHub and CI/CD from an architectural view.
• Hands-on remediation of third-party and open-source vulnerabilities at scale.
• Cloud-native environments (AWS/Azure) and container tech (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Secure coding practices and platform security controls.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer that will join the Auth0 Security Engineering organization. In this role, you will join a team of Software Engineers dedicated to building and managing services that secure the platform that Auth0 runs on. You will be instrumental in expanding our platform security controls and architecting custom workflows in a scalable, reliable manner.

What You Will Do

• Service Development: Build, maintain, and operate platform security services and controls using Python, Node.js, or Golang.
• Security Automation: Build and contribute to our security automation initiatives for custom tooling.
• Container Security: Provide technical support and engineering solutions for securing Kubernetes (K8s) and containerized workloads, including runtime security, network policies, and admission controllers.
• Engineering Quality: Write clean, testable, and well-documented code while driving technical designs and participating in code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
• Vulnerability Management: Support remediation plan for vulnerabilities in partnership with Auth0 engineering teams, including development and commit of patches to remediate issues.

What You Bring

• Software Development Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining production-grade software services.
• Core Language Proficiency: Hands-on mastery of Python, Node.js, or Golang.
• Expertise in using GitHub, and CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) from an architectural and engineering perspective.
• Expert-level proficiency in Software Composition Analysis (SCA) and hands-on experience in the practical remediation of third-party and open-source dependency vulnerabilities at scale.
• Cloud & Containers: Solid experience with cloud-native environments (AWS or Azure) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Security Mindset: Practical experience building platform security controls, managing service permissions, and applying secure coding practices.

Nice to Have

• Experience with high-throughput streaming platforms or log processing tools (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub, Vector).
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and Policy-as-Code tools.
• Familiarity with compliance standards (FedRAMP, SOC2) and security frameworks in multi-cloud environments.
• Experience or interest in applying AI/ML tools to automate security workflows and analysis.

Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience.

The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between: $136,000 - $187,000 CAD
