Job summary

Synpulse in Toronto seeks a mid-level Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy robust fintech software solutions for financial services clients. You will work with analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical designs and implementations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, IS, or software engineering or related field.
• 5 years of experience delivering technology projects with financial institutions or enterprise firms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think critically and strategically about complex technical challenges.
• Experience writing commercial or open-source software.
• Proficiency in Java and building Java-based Web applications.
• Experience with HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript/JavaScript and frameworks like React/Angular/Vue.
• Knowledge of Cloud, AI, Microservices / APIs.
• Experience with REST APIs and gRPC.
• Experience with Java, C#, and databases (MongoDB, Oracle, MySQL).
• Experience with Python & Power Platform, Playwright and Selenium.
• Experience in data analytics & ML model setup.
• Developing intuitive user interfaces and scalable AI services/applications.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Istio, ELK Stack, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with mobile technologies like React Native, Flutter, Ionic.

In this role, you will interact with Clients, Business Analysts, and Engineers, performing the crucial task of analyzing and validating business requirements and translating them into detailed software solutions. Job Requirements

About you:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Software Engineering, or a related field
• 5 years of experience delivering technology projects with financial institutions or enterprise firms
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically about complex technical challenges
• Experience writing commercial or open-source software
• Proficiency in Java and experience in building Java-based Web applications
• Experience in developing user interfaces with Web technologies, such as HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript/JavaScript, JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, and/or Vue
• Knowledge of current market technical trends, including Cloud, Cognitive, Digital, Microservices / APIs
• Experience with REST APIs, and equivalents such as gRPC.
• Experience with the middle/backend tech stack: Java, C#, as well as common knowledge of databases such as MongoDB, Oracle, MySQL
• Experience with Python & Power Platform, Playwright and Selenium
• Experience in data analytics & ML model setup
• Experience developing intuitive user interfaces and scalable AI services/ applications
• Familiarity or experience with new and emerging supporting technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Istio, ELK Stack, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and/or other Cloud Technologies
• Familiarity or experience with mobile technologies such as React Native, Flutter, and Ionic will be desirable.

It’s a plus if you have:

• MacOS and Linux experience
• Working knowledge of Agile software delivery framework
• Experience with client-facing integration, implementation engineering, or solution architecture roles, in B2B software product companies
• Experience leading projects across teams and regions
