Job Description

The Software Engineer Contractor is responsible for analysis, development and ongoing support of key internal software systems at Ritchie Bros., with a specific focus on Salesforce and its related ecosystem. The Software Engineer will work closely with the Lead Software Engineer as well as other team members such as QA, Product Owners, System Integrators (DevOps), Solutions Architects, and Business Users to deliver high-quality software and ensure systems operate correctly once deployed. The engineer will also leverage their knowledge of IT platforms to guide solution design and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality software efficiently
• Provide technical input and leadership as required
• Perform peer code reviews and provide feedback
• Perform systems maintenance tasks
• Assist team members in technical and development aspects
• Support Product Owners in translating business requirements into technical tasks and estimations
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure product quality and reliability
• Participate in Agile workflows including Scrum, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
• Work remotely or onsite in Burnaby, BC during regular business hours
• Be available for on-call support for critical incidents
• Support safety initiatives and act responsibly to ensure safety of all team members

Qualifications
