Job Description

Are you looking for an opportunity to enhance product displays across the Amazon store through a highly available, large-scale, store-wide software solution? Do you enjoy finding patterns and building generic, composable software solutions to solve complex problems? Are you interested in inventing newer and simpler ways of building solutions? If so, we have a challenging position for you.

We are the one-stop shop for building product display experiences. Through our highly available Tier-1 services, we provide the building blocks for product displays that enable experience owners to perform at scale. We power experiences like Search, Personalization, Cart, and Checkout across all platforms including Amazon.com and mobile. As an SDE II on our team, you will design and build software that is highly available, performant, scalable, and extensible. You will own the software development process end-to-end, including design, implementation, testing, and operations.

This role requires you to be a significant and autonomous contributor, delivering high-quality work. You will solve complex problems using appropriate technologies and best practices, designing automated solutions to test major software components or features. You will use testing data from deployment and production to improve quality. Your coding should be understandable by other engineers, and your solutions should be pragmatic, minimizing complexity and reusing code where possible.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned engineer to lead architecture, design, implementation, and deployment of large-scale applications. You will work with global teams, pushing your design and architecture limits by inventing and simplifying complex problems. Strong communication skills, self-drive, and a passion for tackling new challenges are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• 5+ years of professional full-stack development experience.
• Ability to rapidly prototype and adjust based on customer feedback.
• Experience building front-end features for mobile applications.
• Proficient in software design approaches and UX patterns.
• Ability to evaluate dependencies on front-end libraries and frameworks.
• Capable of debugging, patching, and extending front-end libraries.
• Proficiency in view layout and rendering technologies (responsiveness, browser support).
• Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Alignment with Amazon’s leadership principles and technical depth requirements.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture.
• Experience programming in at least one software language.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
