Job summary

Valsoft Corporation in Montreal is seeking an SDET to build a full suite of automated tests and automate regression and QA processes.

You will work with a small team, own Cypress-based tests, and move toward Playwright/Selenium if needed. Strong JS/TS skills and CI/CD experience are required; knowledge of AI tooling for testing is a plus. Bachelor's in CS or related field and ability to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Intermediate-level SDET or similar test automation role.
• Hands-on with automated test suites in Cypress or moving from Playwright/Selenium.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills; C# is an asset.
• Experience with Jest, xUnit or similar unit/integration frameworks.
• GIT, CI/CD pipelines, and orchestration tools familiarity.
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum practices.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience.
• Criminal background check required.

What you will do:

• Build and own a full suite of automated tests in Cypress, starting with regression coverage.
• Automate as much of the current manual QA and regression process as possible.
• Use AI tooling to write, maintain, and triage tests faster, and find new places it can speed testing up.
• Keep the framework and CI test runs fast, stable, and easy for developers to contribute to.
• Define test coverage with the team's developers and product manager from requirements, before code is written.
• Run tests, report defects, and work with developers to resolve them.
• Report on coverage, quality, and stability, and share testing practices with QA on other teams.
• Intermediate-level experience as an SDET or in a similar test automation role.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test suites in Cypress (or Playwright/Selenium with the ability to move to Cypress).
• Strong programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript; C# an asset.
• Practical experience using AI tools in a development or testing workflow.
• Experience with unit and integration test frameworks such as Jest, xUnit, or similar.
• Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and orchestration tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI, Azure DevOps).
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum practices.
