Job summary

Apple's Creativity Applications team is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test to ship iOS/macOS apps, cloud-based frameworks, and APIs with high quality. You will design test strategies, validate on-device ML/AI features, and contribute to tools for creative professionals.

Experience with video editing tools and a passion for AI are a plus. You will collaborate across disciplines to coordinate multi-functional testing efforts, maintain robust automation, and advance CI/CD pipelines

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test or similar engineering roles.
• Fluent in Python, Swift, and/or JavaScript to prototype features, create, and test with internal tools.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks for mobile and web platforms using tools like XCTest, Selenium, or WebdriverIO.
• Proficiency in testing iOS/macOS and/or mobile apps, cloud-based frameworks, and framework APIs.
• Experience developing/validating GenAI tools or working on AI-adjacent projects.

Description

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, designing, writing, maintaining, and executing test strategy and test plans. You will drive all aspects of quality and process improvements to help the team ensure that our features are rock-solid and ready to be released to our customers. Reporting bugs with outstanding isolation and regression techniques will be the key to your success. This role requires balancing a wide variety of deliverables that will rely on your talent for managing priorities and communicating progress and risks effectively and systematically. Your ongoing curiosity and dedication to self-education in AI/ML technologies, video/photo/music/productivity applications, editing software, as well as new testing techniques, is what will set you apart. You will be working closely with other team members to help coordinate multi-functional test efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test or similar engineering roles.
• Fluent in Python, Swift, and/or JavaScript to prototype features, create, and test with internal tools.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks for mobile and web platforms using tools like XCTest, Selenium, or WebdriverIO.
• Proficiency in testing iOS/macOS and/or mobile apps, cloud-based frameworks, and framework APIs.
• Experience developing/validating GenAI tools or working on AI-adjacent projects.
• Demonstrable experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and associated tools (e.g., Jenkins, Xcode Server).
• Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven experience of working on Creator or Creative platform and applications.
• Familiar with Apple ecosystem and writing automation for Apple platforms including iOS and macOS.
• Experience with photo, video, and cloud editing workflows using creative applications is a plus.
• Experience in large-scale web applications and cross-platform test automation.
