Job summary

Pollard Digital Solutions in Winnipeg, MB, is seeking an Intermediate Software Developer to design, develop, and test digital software applications including mobile apps, websites, and widget frameworks. You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment within the Digital Solutions Team reporting to the Manager, Software Development.

The role focuses on building scalable, reusable components with TypeScript/React/Next.js, exploring AI-assisted tools, and contributing to containerized

• Proficiency with Java, React, TypeScript and Next.js.
• Experience with MySQL relational databases.
• Web and mobile app development with React Native and Next.js.
• RESTful API design and consumption.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices.
• Agile development methodologies and Atlassian tools.

We’re looking for a collaborative Software Developer (Intermediate) to join our Digital Solutions Team within our Winnipeg, MB office.

We are looking for a talented and driven individuals to join our fast-paced environment as an Software Developer (Intermediate) in the Digital Solutions Department. The ideal candidate is adaptable, collaborative, and motivated to play a key role in driving the implementation of innovative digital solutions. Reporting to the Manager, Software Development, the role will be responsible for designing, developing and testing digital software applications which includes mobile applications, websites, widget frameworks, interactive games and other new innovative products.

What You'll Do

• Analze and develop scalable and reusable code by using the best software development practices, clean code and solid principle
• Work in an Agile, collaborative environment to deliver innovative solutions that meet all business and customer requirements
• Define, develop, and maintain web and mobile applications and reusable interface components using TypeScript, React, Next.js, and React Native
• Assist in building a suite of tools and libraries for digital products to use, that support the development and maintenance of containerized microservice applications
• Collaborate with different teams and departments to be in sync for the on-going projects and any new projects coming.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development tools and modern application frameworks, and apply them responsibly to improve development efficiency, quality, and innovation

What You'll Bring

• Proficiency and hands-on experience with Java, React, TypeScript, and modern web frameworks such as Next.js; experience with relational databases such as MySQL
• Working knowledge of web, iOS, and Android application development, including frameworks such as React Native and Next.js
• Experience with creating and consuming RESTful APIs
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and or Microservices Architecture is considered an asset
• Good understanding of agile development methodologies and associated tools like the Atlassian Suite
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to document technical specifications
• Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) would be an asset
• Familiarity with AI-powered development tools (such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or similar) and an understanding of responsible AI usage, including validation of AI-generated outputs, security considerations, and adherence to organizational policies
