Job description

Individual Customer Technology (IC Tech) is an organization providing information technology solutions to Canada Life. In IC Tech, the Customer is at the centre of what we do.

Our IC Tech professionals make a significant contribution to the companies' business goals through the effective delivery of value-added services. These services include setting technology direction, project management, analysis, system architecture, software development and the provision of operational support services for our Individual Customer business unit.

What you will do
  • Design, develop and test software to specifications.
  • Production support (includes 24x7 on call support).
  • Provide consultation with the Systems Architect and Business Systems Analyst.
  • Participate in project planning.
  • Deliver code reviews and provide feedback relative to best practices.
  • Coach and mentor teammates.
  • Knowledge of software design, design methodologies, and design documentation tools.
  • Knowledge of IT industry current trends.
What you will bring
  • A degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in a software developer role.
  • Knowledge of the following application development environment languages and tools: OnBase, SQL, .NET, HTML and APIs. Exposure to Change Management and file transfer tools would also be an asset.
  • IT experience and the ability to understand and effectively work with legacy technologies and contribute as legacy applications evolve and are migrated to new platforms.
  • Knowledge of Insurance business is an asset.
  • Initiative with the ability to easily adapt to change.
  • Excellent understanding of software design, methodologies and documentation standards.
  • Proven commitment to customer service.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both individually and as part of a team, plan and organize your own work, communicate effectively in writing and verbally in person or remotely, initiative, team-oriented leadership skills and attention to detail.

The base salary for this position is between $51,000 - $95,000 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation (i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
