Harris' DataVoice International division is seeking a passionate Software Developer to join our team, focusing on enhancing our core C++ product line. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to solutions that enable utility companies to manage outages effectively.

This is a remote role open to candidates across Canada and the US, working in Central time (CDT/CST). Occasional travel to the DFW area in Texas (2-3 times per year) is required, with a valid passport necessary for Canadian travelers.

Responsibilities:

1. Analyze and program changes in the DataVoice product suite as a key member of the R&D team.
2. Design and develop software components under guidance from senior team members or the technical architect.
3. Assist Professional Services and Support staff with technical investigations.
4. Ensure code quality, reusability, and adherence to specifications.
5. Provide progress updates and troubleshoot client-reported issues.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
2. Minimum of 2+ years of software engineering/development experience.
3. Understanding of business requirements for technical solutions.
4. Flexibility with working hours to meet project deadlines.
5. Strong coding, analytical skills, and eagerness to learn.
6. Ability to work independently and in teams.
7. Strong work ethic.

Preferred Skills:

1. Experience with automation, Bash scripting, and systems programming.
2. Knowledge of GitLab pipelines and Docker.
