Job summary

Thrive Group is seeking a Full-Time Social Worker - Client Care Supervisor to lead clinical services within the Bethany Residence program in Burlington. The role includes supervising staff, providing psychosocial assessments, and coordinating care for individuals facing mental health, housing, and substance use challenges.

As Therapeutic Lead, you will guide therapeutic practices, develop programs, and collaborate with families and partners to achieve positive outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Social Work from an accredited program, or equivalent recognized by Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
  • Master of Social Work is an asset.

We are seeking a Full-Time Social Worker - Client Care Coordinator to join ourBethany Residence program in Burlington!

Position Summary:

The Client Care Supervisor provides clinical leadership, supervision, and direct social work services within Community Services to support high-quality, client-centred care. As a member of the Community Services Leadership Team, the incumbent supervises and supports Community Service Workers and Healthcare Aides through coaching, performance management, and staff development. The role provides psychosocial assessment, counselling, crisis intervention, case management, behavioural support planning, and care coordination for individuals experiencing complex mental health, substance use, housing, and psychosocial challenges. Acting as the Therapeutic Lead, the Social Worker – Client Care Supervisor offers clinical guidance to staff and interdisciplinary teams, supports the development of therapeutic programs and practices, and collaborates with clients, families, community partners, and healthcare providers to achieve positive outcomes and safe, effective service delivery. The role also collaborates with Thrive Group’s Clinical Practice and Centre of Excellence team to translate evidence into practice, strengthen shared clinical pathways and tools, evaluate outcomes, and support a Thrive-wide social work community of practice.

Employment Guide:
  • A Bachelor of Social Work from an accredited program, or other academic qualifications and experience recognized by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers as equivalent, is required. A Master of Social Work is an asset. A minimum of three years of relevant social work experience, including demonstrated leadership experience in staff supervision, coaching, clinical consultation, quality improvement, or program development, is required.
  • Current registration in good standing in the social work category with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), without terms, conditions, or limitations that would affect the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Membership in the Ontario Association of Social Workers is an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of psychosocial theories, family dynamics, conflict resolution and mediation, aging processes, positive behaviour support, responsive behaviours, and systemic barriers.
  • Demonstrates an approachable and professional demeanour, along with an understanding of and empathy for the needs of diverse populations in the community.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to integrate sound relationship-building skills and professional standards into client-centred practice.
  • Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work both collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and independently.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of Housing First principles and extensive knowledge of homelessness and housing instability.
  • Experience in harm reduction best practices and overdose prevention.
  • Training and experience in trauma- and violence-informed practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention, mediation, de-escalation, and non-violent crisis and suicide intervention.
  • Working knowledge of the justice system.
  • Experience using LOCUS, OCAN, and VI-SPDAT assessment tools is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and experience with AlayaCare, PointClickCare, and the interRAI suite of tools are assets.
  • A valid driver’s license is required as well as successful completion of a vulnerable sector police check.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, naloxone training, and ASIST are assets.
