Job summary

The YMCA of Northern Alberta is seeking a Social Media & Communications Coordinator to engage and connect people across Edmonton and surrounding regions. You will develop compelling content, manage multiple platforms, and support events with photo and video coverage.

This role offers a flexible, hybrid work model with a downtown Edmonton office and opportunities to travel to regional sites to capture impactful stories and advance our marketing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud to design and edit content (photo, video, social assets).
• Experience using camera, audio and lighting equipment.
• Diploma or Degree in marketing, design, advertising, public relations, communications, or related fields.
• 1+ year of related social media, design or digital marketing experience.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for content gathering.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple social media platforms daily (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, X).
• Create and curate original content that tells the YMCA story and drives engagement.
• Attend events to shoot photo and video content.
• Edit content and design graphics and copy that align with the YMCA brand.
• Monitor audience engagement and tailor content to audience needs.
• Track campaign performance and report results to leadership.
• Collaborate with Marketing & Communications team to grow strategies and content.
• Travel occasionally to support regions (Red Deer, Wood Buffalo, Grande Prairie) and events.
