Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited is seeking an on-call snow shoveler/hand crew technician for the Brantford area. Seasonal contract from November 15 to April 15, working on client sites and assisting with de-icing and snow removal.

Position is on-site with 24/7 on-call availability during snow events, pay rate $23–$25 per hour, and potential to transition to the landscape team in spring. Training and safety are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Must be available 24hrs/day, 7 days/week during snow/ice events.
• Reliable transportation to Brantford location (40 Roy Blvd or nearby).
• G class driver's license is an asset.
• Work outdoors in extreme cold, snow, and ice.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to calls for snow/ice events and be available to communicate during and around shifts.
• Clear snow from customer sites and pile snow in designated locations.
• Operate vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Apply de-icing agents to control ice accumulations at jobsites.
• Hand-shovel, snow blow, or hand-treat areas as required (walkways, doors, etc).
• Comply with safety policies and procedures and document shift activities.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.

Position Overview

Do you want to be a part of a fun, detail and customer-oriented team? Antler Services, a Davey Tree Company, is searching for an ON CALL snow shoveler / hand crew technician for the upcoming winter season. This is an on call seasonal/contract position expected to last from November 15 to April 15.

As a valuable member of our team, you will get to end every day seeing the differences you made for our customers and clients. This position involves traveling to client sites in the Brantford area and shoveling snow in a safe and timely manner. In addition to shoveling, you will also assist with deicing of client properties. This position is paid at $23-25/hour and includes the potential to continue working with our landscape team in the spring!

Job Duties

• Respond promptly to calls for snow and ice events and be available to communicate during and before/after shifts.
• Clear snow from customer sites from designated areas and pile snow in designated and approved locations only.
• Operate vehicles and equipment in a safe, responsible and efficient manner.
• Control ice accumulations at jobsites with the safe and responsible use of de-icing agents (salt, treated salt, liquids or other de-icing chemicals).
• Hand-shovel, snow blow or hand-treat site areas as required (walkways, doorways, fire equipment, etc).
• Abide by Davey and industry safety policies and procedures.
• Submit paperwork and documentation promptly at the end of each shift and document and report any obstacles at site(s).
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.

Qualifications

• Must be available 24hrs/day, 7 days/week at any time a snow or ice event occurs.
• Reliable transportation to 40 Roy Blvd in Brantford
• ‘G’ Class Drivers License is considered an asset.
• Work outdoors in extreme cold, snow, and ice conditions on a regular basis.
• Push and lift snow while making repetitive physical movements.
• Work safely near heavy equipment occasionally in a loud environment.
• Ability to follow safe working procedures.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
