Job summary

Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited is seeking an on‑call Snow Plow Operator for the Brantford area for the upcoming winter season.

The position is seasonal/contract, expected from November 15 to April 15, with pay at $25–$30/hour and the potential to transition to the landscape team in spring. Responsibilities include traveling to client sites, snow removal, and de-icing, while maintaining safety and equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be available 24hrs/day, 7 days/week during snow/ice events.
• Experienced in operating a snowplow or skidsteer.
• G Class Driver's License with clean driving record.
• Provide own warm winter clothing including CSA approved footwear.
• Reliable transportation to 40 Roy Blvd in Brantford, Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to calls for snow and ice events.
• Communicate during and after shifts.
• Conduct pre-shift inspections and maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Clear snow from customer sites in designated areas and pile snow safely.
• Operate vehicles and equipment in a safe, responsible manner.
• Apply de-icing agents to control ice accumulations.
• Hand-shovel or snow-blow areas as needed.
• Follow Davey safety policies and procedures.
• Accurately document site service records for each visit.
• Submit paperwork at the end of each shift and report obstacles at sites.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.

Position Overview

Do you want to be a part of a fun, detail and customer-oriented team? Antler Services, a Davey Tree Company, is searching for an ON CALL Snow Plow Operator for the upcoming winter season. This is an on call seasonal/contract position expected to last from approximately November 15 to April 15.

As a valuable member of our team, you will get to end every day seeing the differences you made for our customers and clients. This position involves traveling to client sites in the Brantford area and plowing snow in a safe and timely manner. In addition to shoveling, you will also assist with deicing of client properties. This position is paid at $25-30/hour and includes the potential to continue working with our landscape team in the spring!

Job Duties

• Respond promptly to calls for snow and ice events.
• Communicate during and before/after shifts.
• Conduct pre-shift inspections and maintenance on all vehicles and equipment.
• Clear snow from customer sites from designated areas and pile snow in designated and approved locations only.
• Operate vehicles and equipment in a safe, responsible and efficient manner.
• Control ice accumulations at jobsites with the safe and responsible use of de-icing agents (salt, treated salt, liquids or other de-icing chemicals).
• Hand-shovel, snow blow or hand-treat site areas as required (walkways, doorways, fire equipment, etc).
• Abide by Davey and industry safety policies and procedures.
• Accurately document site service records for each and every site visit.
• Submit paperwork and documentation promptly at the end of each shift and document and report any obstacles at site(s).
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.

Qualifications

• Must be available 24hrs/day, 7 days/week at any time a snow or ice event occurs.
• Experienced in the operation and use of a snowplow or skidsteer.
• ‘G’ Class Drivers License with clean abstract
• Provide own warm winter clothing including CSA approved winter footwear.
• Reliable transportation to 40 Roy Blvd in Brantford.
• Work outdoors in extreme cold, snow, and ice conditions on a regular basis.
• Push and lift snow while making repetitive physical movements.
• Work safely near heavy equipment and in loud environments.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
