Job summary

Blue Mountain Resort, owned by Alterra Mountain Company, is seeking Snow Removal Operators for the seasonal full-time role. You will operate CAT loaders, JD tractors, and plow trucks to keep resort infrastructure clear of snow and maintain parking lots.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of heavy equipment experience, are at least 18 years old, can work in cold conditions, and hold a valid Ontario driver’s license. The job offers overnight shifts on a 4-on/2-off rotation and a strong team culture.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of heavy equipment experience required.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• Experience in maintenance/repair of equipment is an asset.
• Able to work in cold temperatures.
• Ontario Driver's License and clean driving abstract.
• Available to work a rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

• Keep accurate plowing logs for liability reasons.
• Operate CAT loaders, including blade/bucket work and attachments.
• Operate John Deere tractors with box blade and attachments (grading/hauling).
• Operate plow trucks with attachments, plowing and sanding.
• Load/haul snow to storage depots when needed.
• Parking lot maintenance: grading, pothole filling.

Seasonal-Full Time

Wage: $23.27 HR

Schedule: Overnight shifts, 4 days on 2 days off

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

Snow Removal Operators clear the Resort's infrastructure of fallen and accumulated snow. This is accomplished through plowing, grading, hauling, and snow stacking.

• Keep accurate plowing logs for liability reasons
• Operate CAT loaders, including blade and bucket work as well as changing of attachments
• Operate J.D. tractors, including box blade and bucket work and attachment work (i.e. grading or hauling)
• Operate plow trucks as needed including plow attachment, plowing and sanding
• In the event of too much snow accumulation in storage areas, loading/hauling to other snow depots
• Parking lot maintenance; grading, filling of pot holes

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

• 3-5 years of heavy equipment experience, preferably construction equipment, landscape equipment or farming background
• Minimum of 18 years of age
• Experience in minor maintenance and repair of equipment an asset
• Ability to work in cold temperatures
• Ontario Drivers' License and clean Driver's Abstract
• Available to work a rotating schedule
