Job summary

Blue Mountain Resort in Ontario is hiring for a Groomer I on a seasonal, full-time schedule. This entry-level role uses groomer equipment to maintain ski and snowboard terrain at Blue Mountain Resort, with overnight shifts from December to March.

Hourly rate is $21.69. You will groom green and blue runs, assist other operators, perform pre-shift checks, report issues, and collaborate with on-hill teams to ensure safe, high-quality trails.

Qualifications

• Valid G License in good standing.
• Able to work independently.
• Grooming experience is an asset.
• Mechanical skills are an asset.
• Knowledge of Resort winter terrain is an asset.
• This role is being posted to fill a vacant position.

Responsibilities

• Groom primarily green and blue runs and assist others on difficult terrain.
• Perform pre shift circle checks and paperwork; post shift duties including housekeeping and mandatory paperwork.
• Recognize and report equipment issues and property damage.
• Work with a GPS system to improve decision making and increase efficiency.
• Recognize and report or repair potential safety issues including lighting, signage, padding and surfaces.
• Maintain good working relationships and open communication with Snowmaking, Slope Maintenance, Patrol, Lifts, Terrain Park, Events and other on-hill staff.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

Groomer I is an entry level slope grooming position. This position is responsible for using groomer equipment and techniques that are essential to maintaining ski and snowboard terrain at Blue Mountain Resort on time and to the highest standards.

• Groom primarily green and blue runs and at times assist Groomer Operators - II, Team Leads and Managers on Duty with more difficult terrain and builds


• Perform pre shift circle checks and paperwork - post shift duties including housekeeping duties and mandatory paperwork


• Recognize and report equipment issues and property damage


• Work with a GPS system to improve decision making and increase efficiency


• Recognize and report or repair potential safety issues including but not limited to lighting, signage, padding and/or poor skiing/snowboarding surfaces


• Maintain a good working relationships and open communication with Snowmaking, Slope Maintenance, Patrol, Lifts, Terrain Park, Events and other on-hill staff
